The Outdoor Adventure Leader is committed to providing ethically responsible programs in outdoor adventure leadership skills and experiences. Through a self-reflexive and cross-cultural approach, the programs offered are on the forefront of the field of outdoor adventure leadership. We are extremely excited about the future of this new business and its potential influence upon the outdoor adventure leadership communities, society, and the broader world. The Outdoor Adventure Leader utilizes a transformative leadership platform, which is based on the understanding we are all leaders, and we all have the potential of positively changing our world through our leadership and our ways of knowing, being, relating, and doing.
The mission of The Outdoor Adventure Leader is to be an active agent of positive social change within the world, which is facing an ecological crisis. The ecological crisis that humanity is facing can be viewed as a crisis of consciousness and misidentification. This crisis will be resolved through education, reeducation, and the willingness to challenge the status quo. As outdoor adventure leaders, we view our primary role as stewards of the natural environment, and stand strong in a commitment to support and practice conservation. The Outdoor Adventure Leader teaches many technical skills, but believes it is our way of being with the natural world that is the most vital teaching offered.
The Outdoor Adventure Leader is actively achieving its mission through experiential opportunities like our Leadership School. Please come join us in being the change our world needs!
“I am losing precious days. I am degenerating into a machine for making money. I am learning nothing in this trivial world of men. I must break away and get out into the mountains to learn the news” Jon Muir. In the spirit of Muir, “The News” page on this website is dedicated to learning from nature. Please explore what is shared on the “The News” page, often, and share your thoughts. Thank you!
